HealFast Therapy stops pain by stimulating afferent nerve endings and eliminating pain impulses. It simultaneously increases the flow of blood and lymphatic fluid that reduces swelling and eliminates bruising. After a soft tissue injury, the body’s inflammatory process starts increasing edema or swelling. In the case of non-infected trauma or aseptic surgical procedures, inflammatory responses cause discomfort and pain without contributing to the healing process.
HealFast Therapy is a type of electro-therapy. Tissues are composed of cellular networks in which cell-cell communication relies extensively on cell-cell contact. In swollen tissues, cell-cell communication is greatly reduced resulting in delayed healing. In the absence of normal cell contact, induced electric fields can be used as a coordinating signal to synchronize the activity of the cells within a tissue, thereby returning tissues to normal function in a shorter period of time.
Most electro-therapies utilize induced electric fields in the extremely low frequency (ELF) range (3Hz-3000Hz). The earliest demonstrations of induction of cell coordination by induced ELF electric fields (Wachtel, 1979) showed that electric fields at intensities in the range of 100-1000 mV/cm were sufficient to initiate synchronous cell activity within seconds of application. Subsequent studies (McLeod et al, 1987) showed that cell ensemble activity could be influenced by induced electric fields as low as 30 mV/cm if exposures extended for four hours or more. More recent studies (McLeod, et al., 2000) indicate that cell ensemble activity can be significantly influenced by induced electric fields as low as 1 mV/cm when using continuous exposures over several days.
HealFast therapy uses a modulated radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic field to induce an electric field into the body tissue. A 27 MHz field permits non-invasive transmission of the treatment into the tissue. The 1 kHz modulation (pulsation) constitutes the physiologically active component of the signal. The magnitude of the induced 1 KHz electric field in the tissue during HealFast Therapy treatment is on the order of 100 mV/cm.
The 27 MHz carrier frequency utilized in HealFast Therapy ensures a penetration depth greater than 1 cm. The area of effective treatment is approximately twice than the active area of the patch or the antenna in the case of the looped flex system.
There are no known contraindications for HealFast. The healfast operation will not influence other external or implanted electrical medical devices. HealFast Therapy is safe to use in the vicinity of water but should not be submerged.
Pulsed electromagnetic therapy is an energy that involves directing a series of magnetic pulses through injured tissue. Each magnetic pulse induces a tiny electrical signal that stimulates cellular repair.
The benefits of HealFast Therapy are:
Pulsed Electromagnetic Therapy has been used effectively around the world for decades on the following conditions: muscle pulls and strains, surgical recovery, bone problems, bone fracture, cuts and bruises and osteoarthritis.
HealFast Therapy is a dramatic improvement in cost-effectiveness. It is wearable by the patient right on the injury – compliance is improved as well as the duration of treatment.
There are no known side effects of HealFast Therapy. After decades of experience with pulsed electromagnetic field effect therapy, there has been no documentation of any side effects.
An LED light on the unit shows that the therapy is working. The lights are either red or green. But the real sign will be the visible improvement in the speed of healing for your pet or horse.
Yes. Use of the HealFast device results in field exposure levels at the target tissue that are orders of magnitude above the thresholds which have been established for non-thermal electromagnetically induced biological effects on connective tissue cells.
